Hi there, has anyone claimed ppi's back off Think mortgages? They say in their letter that we 'opted' (pushed into it) for a lump sum insurance policy that was built into our mortgage advance when we took one out in oct 2003. the woman that is dealing with my complaint is never in & despite messages being left for her she never gets back to me, should i complain to the ombudsman now or wait for her response? Last letter i sent was 25th Jan, still had no response.0

Hi hun
Not heard of them myself but sure others may have here.
However they have 8 full weeks to respond, if they have not dealt with this by given them those 8 weeks yes you should be eligible to take this to the FOS now, you can also inform the company you are doing this and also enclose a copy of the FOS complaints form as well if you want to, this may help make them budge, if you do get a good result through this, then just let the FOS know while your complaint is with them.;)
Good luck hun and you can either download a complaints form from the FOS site or ring them where they will arrange to post to you.

Remember to also enclose any copies of any correspondence from the mortgage company.

just noticed that you claimed back off Welcome finance, im in the precess of completing the fos complaint form, but i'm only claiming from one account (secured loan) with them. I didi have a personal loan & car finance loan with them a few years back, but i did put a claim in when i was off work ill, so they have told me that i cannot claim back the ppi's on them accounts. All acc now paid off as well.0 -

Hi there
Yes there have been some successful reclaims within this company.
You can also check this out on the success thread next to this one.
However some do have an hard time with them, but keep on at them is best.
Court is an option.;) If you wanted to take it this direction but many have won either by reclaiming in general or through the FOS.
What year did you take this out?The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
thanks. I took out two loans one in 2006 and the other 2007, together the ppi comes to about 2000 without adding interest. What is the fos?Offically Debt Free as of 27th May 2009.

Hi hun
When you try to reclaim from the companies, and they do not resolve your case for you, they have 8 weeks to do so, so for instance if they do not satisfy your complaint or they do not respond at all by 8 weeks, you can ask the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) to investigate your complaints for you.;)
They are a free service to use as well.
Check the link I posted in my last post to you, its quote useful.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
