I also dislike all the theads such as 'what do you do for a living', 'this thread takes the biscuit' etc.
And 'end of an era' perhaps?

Got to agree - we are going ever deeper into a stinker of a recession or possibly a depression so there doesn't seem to be an awful lot to debate (I don't count personal slanging matches as debating) other than how bad it will be.

However, there will always be some info to be shared or debate to be had. There seems to be an increasing awareness amongst the general public of just how bad things are so hopefully people can come here for insight.

Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.

Well put, mizzbizz. The people and the discussions aren't up to much these days. It's time to move on but I'll still pop back from time to time.

I think the general public are actually confused  They think (due to the press comment and !!!!!!:D ) they should be really struggling but for most of them they are actually much better off , lower food, petrol, mortgages and (according to the bears) lower rents. I think we should start selling hair shirts so the general public can do some pennance for being better off.

It's the people that come on here and just post seemingly clever, jumped up, smart ars*d, 'funny' comments that really get on my goat. They add nothing to the debate.

Also Mizzbizz, have you noticed how the music of today is also not as good as it used to be? Half of it isn't even music in my opinion.

I have also notice that there seem to be quite a few relatively new 'troll-like' posters here who just seem to post a sentence or so of meaningless drivel in order to incite people. The tone of the boards has changed considerably over the last few months. And yes, some of the posters that used to post here no longer do...I also wonder what has happened to SquatNow.

I like this forum and respect the majority of posters as representing a broad church of opinions. I would lament not being able to read insightful postings and this board is only as good as the sum of its parts. Even though I'm relatively new here having spent far too long sorting out council tax issues over on the tax board, I would miss postings from a whole host of people including those who don't see eye to eye, those who are hugely informative and those who are just plain funny. Please don't go, we've got to outlive the trolls...
