Where to find private landlords and avoid agencies

Can anyone point me in the direction of where I will find private rental properties without looking through Rightmove or agenices, Ive only ever rented through this channels and I'm sick of agencies and would like to try a landlord direct.

I found my rental on a noticeboard at work.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep
& Choo Choo for trains!!0 -
Try Gumtree, they have a Leeds site
We advertise properties on there and find tenants quite easily0 -
Try the local residential LL association - York , Leeds & Harrogate have one, or check via www. landlords.org.uk or www. rla.org.uk for local contacts.
Also try vivastreet, letalife etc0 -
Try your local newsagent/PO window. That's how we found our lovely house- no agencies fees! Hooray.0

Gumtree is a good site to find a private landlord but over the last few months it has been saturated with agencies.0
