Linked addresses

My mortgage application has been declined due to linked addresses.
My credit file is clear of defaults and ccj's and i have a really good score and my partner has one deafult which is being removed at the moment.
We have been asked to send in our credit file to show our own records as apparently they can see deafults at addresses that one of us has lived at which they have to assume is under our name until they can see it wasnt.

when i have sent these in to prove it is there a chance we will be approved?

  • Who is asking you to send in a credit file? I would have thought that a lender has already seen it when they do the credit check. Seems to be a strange request. All a lender would normally say is that you have failed the credit check and you should request a copy of your report to check that it is correct.

the mortgage company have said they dont see the information that is on the credit files, they have said that they just get info sent such as

123 any street (address) has 2 defaults registered. so it could be anyone who has lived at that address

so they want us to send in our individual reports to prove that it isnt us.

the co-op. we have to go through them, as we are getting help through a government scheme and they only use co-op

Get your own report and have a look. It may be there! They can investigate, they can see a defualt in your name, could it be a family member with the same initials? They can see date of births on the file but all banks are cautious. Coop are not dodgy!

I didnt think they were to be honest. Ive got my credit file here and my score is really high, there is noone with same initials. they have told me its a default registered to an address that i have lived at previously and i need to send my file to prove its not me.

its not in mine or my partners name its the address they are talking about

Its all really annoying ive been waiting a week already and now i have to wait for experian to update our records so i can send them in an up to date credit report for me and my partmer just to prove that we have nothing in our name.
its really frustrating and worrying, especially as i know that my credit score is really good.
