Car Insurance Still Valid if Policy Holder has Died?

My mother passed away last week and her car was insured with MoreThan.

My father and I are named drivers on her policy.

Is the policy still valid and are we allowed to drive the vechile legally?

i'd phone them and ask, and if they say No arrange for the policy to change names

I'm pretty sure the policy is not valid and you might find yourself in trouble for driving without insurance. This would be the last thing you need after your sad loss.

They might offer you a good price on a new policy, but you must contact them.

Most Insurers will transfer the policy into your fathers name (They will normally wish to see a copy of the death certificate).

This is normally cheaper than cancelling and arranging a new policy as it avoids admin charges plus they will normally transfer your mothers no claims bonus to your father.

Just give their customer services a call you should find them helpful
