Churchill - £20 Cheque Cashback

Hello all,

Last week my friend received a £20 cheque cashback from Churchill via post with accompany letter which were along the lines of "Welcome back, thank you for choosing to renew your car insurance with us for another year" (I cannot remember exactly what it said).

However, the strange thing is, he has not renewed with Churchill. He has been with Churchill for 3 years then switched to Esure when they would not match Esure's quote. 3 weeks ago his insurance was coming to an end so he shopped around and got quotes via comparison websites and directly on Car Insurance company websites which also included Churchill. In the end he renewed with Esure for 2nd year as they still came out cheapest.

He is obviously worried that Churchill are trying to scam him (as they obv still have his CC details from the past) and has trouble getting through on the phone to them as they are always busy.

He has checked his CC statements online just to make sure no payment as been posted by Churchill, but nothing has popped up as of yet.

Since this forum has lots more experience collectively, what would be the best advice that I can pass to him?

Many thanks!
