i have just tried the lamb burgers and they were good...not too sure about the salad though....then salad doent taste the same when u can see snow as u are eating it
    onwards and upwards
  • lol maybe try some jacket wedges with it next time. 55p for a pack of value jacket potatoes would make it cheaper than the salad!

  • I tried the lime chicken stirfry. It was ok, a bit boring and it needed a lot of jazzing up with extra veggies and spices and garlic etc. Not bad though, and the citrus flavour was nice. I'm going to try the butternut squash and blue cheese risotto, possibly tonight.
  • Tried the frittata, wasn't bad but probably wouldn't cook again, one good thing I'd say about it though is, if you don't like one or two of the ingredients or simply don't have them in then you can easily sub them with something else.

I had the turkey bolognese, without the turkey (used beef mince instead) anyway I think the sainsburys sauce with chilli is lovely, I did try it with the turkey when the recipe first came out but I found the turkey mince very bland and dry. Anyway I would say if you buy any of the premium bolognese sauces and are looking to get a cheaper brand then the sainsburys with chilli is worth a try (not really spicy either if your worried about that just a nice heat)

  • the salmon fish cakes were quite nice and the sausage and roasted veg mash

When I tried the sausage and roast veg mash the veg was still quite hard at the end of the roasting time so just ended up having roast veg instead of mash cause it wouldn't mash lol don't know if I did something wrong

I think this is the recipe. I've got it bookmarked to try, it looks tasty.
  • Sorry to bump, but we tried the blue cheese and squash risotto (bottom of this page) this evening and it was really good - very rich and you need to like blue cheese but it was very tasty. Definitely one we'll be having again.

We had the lamb burgers, resounding success in the Bunny household. I didn't do the salad as they said as already had some just used the burger recipe. Didn't make just 4 though, for one thing it goes against the grain to use 500g mince for 1 meal anymore!! Also the kids would never have eaten that big a burger so made 11 small ones instead. Tasted the same and some left over to go in freezer for another day. Might look at same more of these recipes.

:j We had the lamb burgers and they were really nice and surprisingly filling. this is not one of the meals for a fiver but did the pizzas on naan bread and added pesto as a base and they make a really scrummy lunch
