NHS Dental Charges.

I have searched this site to see if this is already posted but to no avail.
I went to the dentist last week.
The usual check up and a filling.
It cost me £15.04 in total.
Whilst I was there the dentist was telling me (and there were posters around the surgery detailing this) that in April dental charges on the NHS would be rising to a stupid amount.
I can not remember a lot of the prices off the top of my head but my £5.84 check up in April will be £15.50. Then my £9.20 filling would be about £42.40. He also said that a lot of orthodontic work will no longer be available on the NHS.
One plus side is that at present is the max. you get charged for NHS dental treatment is £384.00 at present. I have been told (If I am wrong this is only hearsay so please do not shout at me) that this limit will be coming down to £189.00.
The annoying thing is I never have more than a check up and the odd filling!
If you have a dentist appointment planned for after April and you are like me and only have little things done.......MOVE YOUR APPOINTMENT!
I do hope this is helpful.

Hello mazzza
Have you looked at the 'NHS dentist' type threads in the 'Health MoneySaving' board? This subject has been discussed at length and we are fortunate to have helpful input from members who are dentists too.;)10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride.
