Well it's not the only accusation he is throwing around ... everytime I post and say I haven't had many problems - which I haven't - I'm accused of somehow being involved with AF and promoting them!
Amazing how he gets offended at being called Decker, which is part of his user ID, and doesn't see the irony in the fact he's called Dan, a crook, and made continued suggestions that I am not a genuine customer!
I'm livid ... seriously.
But I will come up for air to say that I do have sympathy with some folk who've had problems - maybe it is my location that makes me more tolerant than most - but for many people who genuinely NEED to save money, AF has been a boon, despite the hitches.
Tbh from seeing the arguments between you, I think you are stuck into one of those annoying little series of misunderstandings that can happen on the web when people can't see each other eye to eye so something said that would be easily understood if you could hear the tone of voice or body language is misunderstood; and trying to make the other person understand what you really mean is impossible as each attempt to explain makes it worse.
What was meant as a light hearted dig can seem like an accusation, and sarcasm is often misconstrued. Its why I'm so long winded at times - I am very careful to try to make my posts understandable (and probably fail by making them too bloody long :rotfl:)
So probably best to throw in the towel and just forget what the other person has said - if is a mistake better to not pick at it - if not, well then the other guys an idiot and can be safely ignored. And you probably will never work out why the other party said what they did, so continuing to argue about it is just going to carry it on.
Just my 2cents anyway - if you want to continue argueing ill get the popcorn in

Lets start on a couple of things how dare you refer to any poster using their username SHOCKING!

Also please do not post replies supporting a business that you have had no major oroblems with again SHOCKING!

My own experience with AF has not been 100% perfect but considering the prices that they sell their goods at( and yes I realise about the dates etc) I am willing to put up with minor problems.
Stranger Than Fiction and most of the rest of us
I understand you have had some problems but you have dealt with them and understand AF`s situation as most of us do:T
If anyone is wondering I do not work for AF and have had three orders delivered and have another two in the pipeline.
AF buyers need patience and understanding if you have neither shop elsewhere but pay more for it!
Above all be nice and have fun:D0 -
It wouldn't go that far. He stated that he thought that AF taking funds before shipping (with status of availability of items unknown)was against consumer law - thus saying a crook while going a bit too far is kind of fair comment IANAL so fuzzy on that part of law, but I wouldn't have thought was against the laws of slander. Don't agree with the statement but that's besides the point.
I think mdecker may be getting confused with the policies on the google website - from reading the vendor must take authorisation within 7 days to be guaranteed availability of funds.Capture of funds (actual payment as a pose to authorisation) must be done within 24 hours of shipping. (http://checkout.google.com/seller/policies.html?hl=en_GB)
MDecker - Do you have proof that AF is actually taking payment more than 24 hours before shipping, or are you confusing the payment authorisation that shows up on your bank statement with the actual payment? Authorisations for payment sometimes show up on bank statements, and look just like a payment, when they are really just a guarantee that the amount will be available when the seller completes the order. I think that is the case, however I could be incorrect, I just thought it could offer an explanation as to why you appear to be charged before time.
Yes I have proof. Here's Google's full order history:
24th Jan 12.38 Order received
24th Jan 12.53 Authorisation successful
24th Jan 12.53 Charge initiated
24th Jan 12.53 Order charged
9th Feb 01.54 Refund Applied
9th Feb 20.25 Refund Applied
You can see the problem - the authorisation's successful (that's the bit where he's supposed to stop until it's shipped. Payment is authorised for seven days, and can be re-authorised if the order's delayed). But what this vendor's doing is going straight to the next two steps - initiating the charge and charging it immediately.
As I said before, there's only two reasons for this that I can see - incompetence or crookedness. Is there one I've missed out?0 -

this will be my 4th order with af(awaiting delivery), plus one i have collected in person as i was passing.
i have every sympathy with dan and his team, with the rapid growth, however i too got an email last night with a few items refunded from my 7th feb order.
i thought this would be eliminated with the new ordering system ,which was in place when i made my order.
thats my niggle, i expected a wait, but didnt expect things to be refunded for. it does kind defeat the new system.
not knocking the price, or the company just think his new stock system is clearly not working0 -

Why is someone who posts of their bad experience told to 'lighten up'?
People come to this thread, in part, to find out about others' orders with Approved Food. I've simply reported about my experience; don't you think it somewhat rude to tell me to 'lighten up'?0 -

Ok suggest you take it up with AF and Google, as they will have the records to back up your side of the story. Posting it here is pointless as we cannot do anything about it. And you know that someone is bound to say you are making it up or faking the records no matter how much proof you show, because people are like that, its only human, so just stick to those who have to deal with any complaint.
If you are correct, then I would suspect that it is an oversight due to pressure, and not genuine knowing malfeasance but that is only my opinion, and either way it needs bringing to the proper attention so the mistake can be handled. Have you actually made a complaint to AF and told them you think they are going against the policies of google checkout? If not I suggest you do.
I know I might get chided for suggesting this - but something like this needs to be nipped in the bud before it gets to be a legal problem, so making sure AF knows a customer is likely to make a formal complaint is the best way to make sure they realise that there could be a problem and change their practise, before they get thier google checkout account revoked. If there is only one complaint and the problem is dealt with quickly it shouldn't cause problems.
Edit: where did you get the full google account record from btw? from your bank? On google checkout it shows it like this
2 Feb Your credit card was refunded for *****
