moving bath/ installing new shower, advice please

Hi all,
i have a question about my bathroom.
Currently the bath taps are furthest away when you go into the bathroom and there is a tiled shelf which causes problems when we shower. We use the shower on the bath taps

When i moved in 2 years ago we had to remove and reapply the tiles by the shelf where water had got in.

Now i am thinking, what if we turn the bath around? would this be a difficult/ expensive job? could it be done without damaging tiles?

Other solution is buying a shower to put at the other end of the bath, would istallation be expensive? and can anyone recomend a good mixer shower?

thanks
Katie

Difficult to be sure without knowing your precise layout, but in theory turning a bath round is not a huge job. If you're reasonably familiar with simple plumbing you could probably do it yourself. It's just a case of re-routing / extending the existing pipework to reach the new position of the taps. As long as you're careful removing the bath, you should be able to get away without damaging the tiles. You'll probably need to fiddle around a bit to re-level the bath to the tiles, and re-seal around it. Not technically difficult, but lots of fiddling around. If you get a plumber to do it, it's going to cost more - he's going to have to charge for his time that it takes to do all the fiddling and re-positioning, but the actual cost of materials will be very small.
