Boiler help

Hi there - I have an old (20+ years) Potterton Netaheat boiler - the gas valve is giving up the ghost and can't seem to get a replacement. Not surprised at that age and probably better to replace now anyway.
So I have a 4 bed house with conventional system + 2 pumped power showers. I'm thinking of getting a heat only condensing boiler as I've heard that the combi boilers take some time (30secs?) to produce hot water, and that the shower pressure won't be as good. Any comments on this or why combi might be better?
From this forum - Vailant, Viessman or WB seem to be the brands to go for. Any comments on these?
Also - any plumber recommendations for North Hampshire?
Thanks for any help!

Good morning: As you have 2 pumped showers at the moment, I'd stick with a regular boiler (or consider a system boiler) as swapping to a combi would requiring rejigging both showers and the respective pipework with no guarantee that the combi would be able to supply enough hot water to supply more than one drawoff point at a time eg. basin, sink, shower, bath. However, if you decide to go down the combi route, the Vaillant 937, Viessmann 333 and Alpha CD50 are 3 options (all storage combis). My OH installs Vaillant and Viessmann products.
How far north in North Hampshire are you?

Thanks Canucklehead. I'll have to look up what a 'system boiler' is! I'll check out the combi options you suggest also
I'm in Yateley not far from Camberley / Farnborough0 -
Hi.... so you're on the North Surrey side of Hampshire (part of my OH's territory;)). For more info on boilers take a look at this guide from the Energy Saving Trust. If you want a bit of advice ect. drop us a PM.

Hiya
My OH receommends Worcester system boiler with a unvented mega flow cylinder as he says you cant beat German engineering.
H says problems with Valiant boilers are they are all plastic fitttings inside which are sealed with O rings which can start to leak in no time.
Dont know if that is any use?
