Extra warranty with dishwasher?

I have just bought a Hotpoint Aquarius dishwasher from Currys (not on credit)and took out their extra cover for £2.99 per month for as long as I want it. However, when we unpacked the dishwasher and looked at the instructions etc that came with it we found that for about £10 per month for 10 months we can have cover for 5 yrs from Hotpoint parts & labour. My question is which one would be the better option? I doubt I will miss £2.99 per month but atleast the Hotpoint option would end within 10 months.

    £10*10=£100

    £3*60=£180

Actually, you can by the same even cheaper: £88.30 or £9.27*10 (http://www.warrantyex.co.uk/QuotePage.aspx?Subcategory=69&PriceRange=2). This is just an example, possibly, not the best one.

    P.S. which?extra:
    Before you buy
    • Look at our reliability data Modern appliances are getting more reliable, so an extended warranty could be pointless.
    • Check the manufacturers' warranties These usually last for a year, but the manufacturer might offer an extended guarantee free, or more cheaply than retailers. For example, our Best Buy Siemens WXL147 washing machine is available at Comet. A five-year warranty would set you back £169.99 from Comet but is free from Siemens if you register your purchase.
    • Shop around Manufacturers, credit card companies and some insurers might offer a cheaper warranty than the shop. And ask for a discount. In our research seven stores offered an incentive to buy the warranty - normally free delivery or something off the price of the TV.
    • Know your cover One of the added extras of most retailers' warranties is accidental damage cover. But you can normally add this to your household contents insurance for as little as £30 a year.
    • Know your rights If there's a manufacturing defect, the retailer is legally obliged to repair or replace your machine any time up to six years. And this is the case even if the fault doesn't show up for some time (say if a component wears out too quickly because of shoddy workmanship).
