Removing paint from pebbledash.

Is it possible to remove paint from pebble dash and restore it to it's original natural look ?

The pebble dash on my house was painted several years ago and I really prefer the original look.

Appreciate any views

Thanks

the only way to remove it would be to have it sand blasted
  • ok thanks. I presume that would be pretty expensive

    i would have thought so
can you just not repaint it - untreated pebbledash does get dirt and grime on it so will lose it's new look
  • Yes it looks like I will have to re-paint it. I just quite like the unpainted look.

    Thanks for your help

Surely no one prefers the dirty colour of unpainted pebble dash. Ugh!
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Sand blasting the paint off pebble dash is likely to remove the pebbledash as well!

you wil need an experienced company to do this - they can adjust the amount of presure required so that the original surface isn't damaged
painting it is still the easiest and cheapest option tho

Thanks for all your replies. I'll probably just stick to repainting it. At least I now know it can be done if I should want to.

if you do paint it make sure that you water the paint down slightly as it gets "crows feet"inbetween the pebbles if it goes on too thickly and also have a good drying day as it takes alot longer to dry than a smooth wall
