Higher than us (family of six in three bed house and someone home most of the time) for electricity, about the same for gas if you have a metric meter.0

forgot to add we are a family of 50

This winter, we are averaging 16kwh a day. Most days there's a carbon fiend here on the xbox and it's on all evening. Main TV and Sky on from about 9pm until midnight. Washing machine and dishwasher every day. All this in the summer averaged about 13kwh a day. Higher now because I use tumble drier for a couple of hours a week, dehumidifier runs a few hours a day and, of course, more lights on. We cook with gas.0

just took my meter readings from
1/2/09-1/3/09 for gas and elec

elec 14648 1/2/09-15131 1/3/09 usage for month 483 units
i know i have asked the question before is normal, high usage for a family of five in a three bedroom detached.

End of November to end of February
2 bed terrace, no insulation
2 adults
£170 gas - all water heated through this
£60 electricity - everything else0 -
Mine's high too - new boiler - old victorian semi gas £100 per month, elec - £120 - I blame our tumble drier for a lot of that.
Learn't our lesson and started to cut down as much as poss.
Use that washing line!!
Got the boiler on a timer now as well as my 2 lads leaving home (well mostly!)
Should start to get it down.
Also havin a water meter fitted now just the 2 of us.0 -
Family of six in three bed house. Have just put readings in for February and we used:
Elec - 434kwh
Gas -3223kwh
£45 electricity and £95 gas for this month.0 -
Two in a 4 bedroomed house, retired so we are in during most days.
Cavity wall insulation fitted in March 2008. Don't know yet how it has affected energy consumption but the bedrooms are noticeably warmer.
Usage from 26th January to 23rd February:
Electricity 231 kWh
Gas 2964 kWh
We changed to a water meter in April 2006, were then paying almost £28 per month. This immediately reduced to just under £19 per month, currently paying £21 per month
Well worth doing Paulsad.0
