I'm going to do a HHC in DD's bedroom as the floor's covered in clothes and if I sort them out and put them away she might not feel too overwhelmed about doing the rest!

and green bee too - think you should start on the bathroom and you could get a full house for a change!

question - can you put your BM straight back on - I have plenty yeast(doh I had put it down on the table and not noticed!) and as this loaf looks like it will be hopeless I thought I would just do another one - but do you have to let it cool down first??

TAG migraines are not nice! hope you feel better soon. Did you get 'L' ??
    toots xx

It's doing my head in this one. Normally I'd take alternate paracetamol and ibuprofen and that usually does the trick....but.....I'm currently on the old sunshine pills from the doctor (for anxiety and mild depression, hence my lack of posts in previous weeks) and your not supposed to take ibuprofen with them.

I kept waking up last night because it hurt so much. Which in turn has left me tired and a bit dizzy through lack of proper sleep and made the migraine worse as the days gone on.

As for 'L' That's the flippin migraines fault as well. I went to bed at 8.00pmish last night and missed the end of the bidding:rolleyes::rolleyes: So no I didn't get it:rolleyes::rolleyes: There is another one on there though so I'll give that a bash;)

    Evening everyone

    Fly-Flo - The floor - thanks - I'm really pleased with it!
AnW'sMUm - what a lovely photo! Hope Look North use it.

Hope all of you that had a snow day enjoyed it.

We may be getting another snow day here tomorrow. There's a warning out about heavy snow in the night. Where I live looks to be just on the edge of it but where I work looks to be right in the middle of it!

I shall just have to suck it and see I suspect.

But, off to do some flying and look in the freezer for inspiration for dinner.

Can you take aspirin or is it no NSAIDs? If I run out of ibuprofen I substitute with aspro-clear (can't have the ordinary ones during a migraine, I feel sick enough as it is!). I also find that once I've taken all the drugs I can get hold of I try to sit down with a cup of instant milky coffee and talk to someone (in person or on the phone) for 20 minutes, or until the risk of the pills bouncing :o has gone! Quite often the little bit of caffiene and the chat help. And shut yourself in your bedroom, with the curtains closed, plenty of water and tell everyone else to be quiet until you're better!! If it doesn't go away soon, call NHS direct or your GP and ask them for an alternative. They may be able to give you a one-off dose of something different that will knock it on the head (I've had injections for migraines when I haven't been able to take the usual stuff).

Thanks for the advice toots! Bathroom isn't too bad, so I'll just go and close the curtains, check the weather forecast (don't really want to go into the office tomorrow  ) and then deal with the bits that need work. I might even iron a duvet cover later!

ETA - soappie... which weather forecast are you looking at? I need to find one that says I can't leave the house tomorrow!

sorry Tag but what 'L' do you need?

A few years back I read a Sue Grafton book K is for Killer. One of the Kinsey Millhone alphabet series. Then I came across P is for Peril, in the hotel whilst on holiday in Cyprus about 4 years ago. Spent the entire week buried in the book and never got to the end cos the last 10 pages or so were missing:rolleyes::rotfl:

So, I decided I'd get the whole set and start reading them from the beginning. I have every book from A to T(which is the latest one) except for L is for Lawless. Finding this one second hand is like looking for a needle in a haystack. It's only the MSE in me that stops me from buying it new:o

Trouble is I've started reading the series now, quicker than I expected, cos they're that good and I'm on G already. So I'm getting a bit desperate for L now.

    it's spelled D-O-U-G-H :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You need to let it cool down a bit because the yeast will be deactivated if it's too hot - although this is a guess but yeast gets killed at too high a temp - HTH

have been to town on the bus - DS has a B-line card so it costs less for him than for DD:confused: nevertheless I had no intention of moving the car - way too risky. Took DD into JJB for new wellies. She has outgrown her old ones and since I expect her to walk to school thought I had better equip her with appropriate footwear.

Now off to concoct the list of what I have done - my usual Thursday tasks - watch this space

Thursday Bathroom and Kitchen special Valli combo...

    Level One

    Clear and wipe surfaces
Scrub the shower, bath, loo's, basins etc.. including the stands/pedestals
    Clear and wipe work surfaces
    Wipe and replace small appliances

    Level Two
    declutter and vacuum/mop the floors!
    chuck out all the empties
Wipe the front of the units, kickboards and the large appliances
    Sweep and mop the floor

    Level Three
    Wipe any chairs
    De-web and de-fluff the room
    Clean the oven and hob

    Extras
    1. empty bins
    2. defrag the pc
All done. Star please Miss Toots!

    Thursday - Master Mess-room.. & landing
    Level One
    [strike]Strip bedding and wash it
Turn and vacuum mattress and redress![/strike]
    Level Two
    [strike]Wash the window
Floor clearance!! Find the carpet.. or at least some!
Find the floor on the landing![/strike]
    Level Three
    [strike]Vacuum floors
Wipe the bed frame of dust and deweb the room
    fill a binbag of rubbish[/strike]

    I did all that yesteday!!!
And I cleaned all the books on the bookshelf. Now that cheers me up for not getting a star for all the work I did on Tuesday! I also made ten pounds of delicious marmalade as well, although I didn't finish until 8pm - I'll start earlier if I do it again.

I'm feeling grotty again - sore lumpy throat for the last two days, had nearly no voice this morning, then croaky for the rest of the day, and now I'm starting to sniff and sneeze. Observed last lesson as well, by someone from a Grammar School - looked a bit as if he were suffering from culture shock! I've cancelled supply job for tomorrow, as I'm going to a Languages conference in London on Saturday, and want to be well for that.

Will catch up with rest of thread after dinner.
