Tesco Turkey Drumstick - Can I Freeze
AlwaysHappy
On Friday, picked up a couple turkey drumsticks that had been reduced, and as we were going away for the weekend, threw them in the freezer. On closer inspection though they say keep chilled, no mention that they can be frozen, so just wondered if anyone else has done this. Normally, I would have cooked them and then frozen them but was out of time. Don't want to poison anyone for the sake of 70p. Thanks.
I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!

I've bought these in ASDA and frozen them. Only thing would be, IF the Tesco's ones have previously been frozen. May be worthwhile checking with the store.
On the other hand, it doesn't say NOT to freeze, or does it

I put the drumsticks from our Christmas turkey in freezer. Used one last Friday for a stir fry and other one will make a curry tomorrow. If I see good quality chickens on offer I buy a few and OH chops them into breasts, legs, thighs and wings which I freeze. Much cheaper than buying breast fillets.0

Yes I buy the turkey legs from Mr t's if they are reduced, the ones that are usually about £1.25 whoopsied down to about 70p and always freeze them with no problems. When I defrost them I usually use the SC so the meat all drops from the bone and then use it to make curries with. The stock when cold gets skimmed of fat then put into a plastic bag and frozen as well and whnen I have enough i use it to make a base for HM soups I waste nothing at all.0

I always freeze stuff from the reduced shelf. As long as I do it on the day I buy it and then use as soon as it's defrosted, I feel ok about it. I think the key thing is not to have it hanging around.
My FIL cooks his turkey legs in the SC in red wine. Yummy!0 -
