bankruptcy and PPI

hi , this is my first ever post. I have just read about to claim PPI. I have had the EGG loan in the past seven years ago. I have applied for the loans twice with in that period to reconsolidate as well. All those loan payments had the insurance included which was offered to my by the EGG loan back the.I carried on making repamnts bak to EGG until 2005. After Feb2005, I had cut down my working hours due to a chronic illness. Over two years ago(sep2006), I had to file the bankruptcy due to drastically reduction in my income( tht was the direct impact of cutting the number of hours in my job). I had five different lenders to deal with and the EGG was one of them. I did have a credit card with EGG as well but it did not have the insurance inculded. In sep 2007, I lost the job due to the illness and claimed IB and DLA since.

The bankruptcy was discharged in 2007. My question is am I entitled for the money back from EGG in this instance which I had paid with my monthly scheduled payments? It will be a really great help as I am living in very tight budget right now. Also have child who is dependant on me.I will appreciate any help or advise.

    Hazel,

Did you ever claim on your PPI when you went on reduced hours? If so you cannot claim you were missold in any way.

I think you would be very unlikely to get any money back, and if you did it would belong to your estate and therefore your creditors rather than yourself.

If you are finding it tough with your budget get yourself onto the debt free wannabe and benefits board and check you are getting everything you are entitled to.

Smile :), it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

You may not be able to claim mis-selling if you have claimed on the ppi but there are certainly other issues other than mis-selling that you can claim on regardless.
Now that you are discharged I see no reason why you cannot make a claim as receive the money back.
I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

However, I have since seen the light.

I have never claim on PPI in the past. I lost the job due to having a medical condition. and this was after one year of filing the Bankruptcy.
On what other basis can i claim the money back as you have mentioned it in your reply to my earlier post?

I did however, make a regular payment of £234.00 every month up until the March 2005 After the reduced working hours(this was including the insurance of £3760.00 for over 60 months!

It is only came to my attention yesterday when I was reading one of the articles in moneysavingexpert news on 29/01/09!

    Thankyou for the advise
