the union wont help me unless i pay them..........erm cant afford to.
hr policy states its a case for instant dismissal. so will have to drag out being off until my br date, do it then tell work cos they find out anyway when the or tells them i suppose. if they drag out the disciplinary at least i'll get paid for it.
no chance of me renting anywhere, i have no money spare. i cant go into council housing, my son deserves better than that. its the bronx round here for council houses, i wouldnt be safe in my own home. dont have anyone to be a guarantor either. best get some cardboard boxes then!0 -
hi again, when i spoke to debtline the lady suggested i get a lodger as i have a 3 bed house, i said to be honest i have my boy 3/4 nights a week so wouldnt be comfortable in that situation but i also dont have friends in the need of a roof, but maybe if you knew someone who could lodge for a while that would help with mortgage and they prefer some money to none so it may help till you found another job, that is if your unfortunate to lose your present position.0

Come on, surely going into council housing is better than living in a cardboard box??Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

Keep looking in papers then for private landlords, If you loose your job you will be entitled to housing benefit, How about Housing assosiations? their properties tend to be better than councils? contact your local CAB0

If you contact the local council they will have lists of landlords who should be able to help. Have you considered HA houses you can get some really nice houses and flats in nice areas with HA, look in the phonebook for HA in your area!

TT, I really think you need to look at the reality of your situation. If you cannot afford to keep the house on, and do not have someone who can act as guarantor for you and/or six months rent up front, then you have very little choice but to get in touch with the council and see if they can help you.
Obviously not an ideal situation, but you have made the point several times that you want what is best for your son - surely, a roof over his head while you sort yourself out and then move into private rented is better than closing that door entirely? I don't mean to be harsh, but you're not in a position to pick and choose at the moment and slamming the door on the mere suggestion of council housing will merely add to an already stressful situation.
