sorry to bother you again

ive done other threads but keep on coming up with issues i need answers to. bet your sick of me by now!

my br date is 3/3/9.

i will have to miss my mort payment in feb to pay my fees, will the OR frown upon this?

do the baliffs come once youve gone br? i dont have a car or anything worth much.

if the Or gets old stats and sees purchases from yrs ago that are designer, will they want to cease the goods?

i have an outstanding balance for my gas suppliers, do i list this? its about £300.

i have life cover, does this need to be listed?

sorry to bother you all again, i dont have anyone else to help me.

  • No bother ttt, this is what this board is for..

yes you have to list your life cover.

Explain why you missed your mort payment, the or will be fine about it. do you have any more mortgage arrears? are you wanting to keep your house?

Baliffs wont come once your BR

you say stats from years ago, how many years ago? The or is only interested in things you have that are worth over £500.

Yes list the outstanding balance, but it may cause you problems with the future supply of gas and electric. they may insist on a prepayment meter.

    thanks!

next month will be my 1st missed, i have to miss it to pay the fees

years ago prob means 3-5 yrs ago. i have designer bags and shoes that were expensive at the time but surely not worth much now? they dont come and search your house do they?

ive been relying on c/cards to live on for clothes, food, holidays. some people might say i should have gone without but theres only me and my little boy. ive been spoiling him, i dont want him to go without. some people might think ive been irresponsible.

ive been struggling for a long time, ive tried to create a happy life for me and my son by having nice things. now its come back to haunt me.
  • Im not sure how long they go back with your stats, i was under the impression it was 2 years, so you should be fine,
no they wont search your house :)

Its hard to live where kids are concerned, but this BR is a clean slate for you, you have to learn from it and live within your means. Budget, save put some away for rainy days, your allowed a expense for a holliday on your SOA so dont worry about that too much.

We took the kids camping last year, first time we had not been abroad with them in years! but you know what.... they loved it, we all did and will be going again this year...

I will have lots of camping equipment show up in my banks stats from last august, thought at the time it was an investment... im hoping they dont take it off me now :( I honestly had no idea at the time though that we were heading to BR, those who have read my posts will know I only found out at the end of the year when i learned what the shortfall was likely to be with NR.

im with nr. i dont care if i have to walk away from this house, it has so many bad memories. im in neg eq, by about 5-10k

there isnt a space on my soa for holidays or haircuts/clothes etc where do i put it? on the bit where my outgoings r?

i only considered br about 2-3 wks ago. i never dreamed it would happen to me.
  • You would have the chance to keep the house if you wanted to, if you could afford to. Be aware you may find it difficult to get a mortgage in the future.

Is there not a space on the form for other expenditure? there was on mine, do a seperate sheet if need be.

I dont think any of us dream it will happen. The reality when we are here is hard, however this board is great for help and advice. Getting round normal life while BR can be hard, It was through this board I heard about the cashminder account at the co op, plus I have a pre pay mastercard now, I put the money on it before i spend it but it allows me to shop online knowing my purchases are protected.

The OR will not frown on this, he/she knows the £495 has to come from somewhere

No, all debts are written off. You have a clean slate

if the Or gets old stats and sees purchases from yrs ago that are designer, will they want to cease the goods?
Highly unlikey, unless they are diamond encrusted

i have an outstanding balance for my gas suppliers, do i list this? its about £300.
    Yes, list ALL outstanding creditors.

i have life cover, does this need to be listed?
    Yes, this needs listing

Ask away, as many questions as you like.
  • hi ttt2009, i went br in dec then or interview begining of jan, they only wanted 12 month of stats for all my accs, did my best and or thanked me for what i did manage to send in. I was well worried b4 interview as i thought they may well not be impressed with my hols i'd taken in the year previously, but or seemed ok as i explained my logic in doing it the way i had. Others on this board didn't take that view. But i never dreamed i'd have gone br, i was solvent when i went. Dont worry so much about or interview, it like going to the dentist, dread going but once its done!

diamond encrusted handbags.............a girl can dream!

i wont be able to afford the house and will be losing my job as soon as i go br. dont have a deposit for a rental either. does anyone know if rental agencies do cred chks? not looking good is it!?

after the 6 yrs on my cred file is up will i be able to get a mort if i ever meet someone?
  • hi TT,
Yeah rental agencies do credit checks. I work for one, could anyone act as guarantor for you? they tend to ask for either 6 months rent upfront or a guarantor, sometimes both.
another idea would be to use a private landlord, housing assosiation or council.
Any chance of you moving out now and finding rented before BR? your credit history may not be as bad now.
Everything is supposed to be ok after 6 years, You may be able to get a mortgage before but will probably end up paying a higher rate or having a sizeable deposit (i think all lenders are asking for these at the minute anyway)

Did you manage to speak to the union at your workplace? And look at your contract regarding their rulings on bankruptcy, etc? I didn't catch up on the other thread so wasn't sure.
