Convert PDF to jpeg?

Hello, I am trying to convert a pdf file to a jpeg (for free?), but don't want to download anything unsafe or get lots of adverts or toolbars or anything. Does anyone have any advice? Many thanks! (I am using Vista and have Word 2007 if that makes any difference). :)

  • Can you take a print screen of the file and paste it into some image editing software? The just save it as a JPEG
  • What about photoshop? Would that do it?
  • Bullzip PDF Printer is a print driver that as well as outputting to PDF also allows output to BMP, EPS, JPEG, PCX, PNG and TIFF - www.bullzip.com/products/pdf/info.php

I've been using it for years with both XP and Vista and had no problems.

If you know anyone with a Mac, they could do it for you.
  • It's built into Vista ! - here how !

In the Start Search window type snippingtool drag cursor over image and save.
  • Here's how I do it,- open your pdf image, open tools, select&zoom, then click on the snapshot tool, click on the area you wish to copy (you may have to zoom out to copy the whole document) ,it will change colour and it will show the the image has been copied.

Then open paint, select edit and paste, then you have the option to save as a jpeg, hope this helps.

If you are able to convert a pdf image to jpg with your Mac, surely it's easy to convert the jpg to a bmp.
    Am I missing something?

Hi bat999. new on a mac, but when i have the file open and go to save as, the option to save as bmp is not there. are bit maps a windows based file type. i have managed to do it by downloading a conversion program trial for the wifes laptop, then which did psd to bmp. what a performance.

    Hi
Yes, I think bmp is a Microsoft thing.
    I'm using GIMP.
That opens jpg images and will save as bmp.
I also think that GIMP will open those psd files which you can then save as bmp.

GIMP is a poor man's photoshop. I think that it runs on Macs too.
