don't assume your insured,check

I took out insurance for my boiler in oct with Eon through uswitch. Confirmation was sent through email which I printed. They said I should hear within 14 days to set up a visit to check the boiler etc. They didn't come and I forgot about it until this week when I called Eon to book a visit and see why they hadn't contacted me. They had no record of me! so I called uswitch they said odd!! we'll check yes they have sent my details, so back to Eon, no no no so back to uswitch yes yes yes so back to eon no no but I could sign up for insurance today!! @ £175 no thanks I said my original quote was for £156. !!!
The moral of the story is even if you get a confirmation that you have the insurance you thought you had paid for just check by phone to make sure.
