And I don't understand why?
'We have carefully assessed your application.. etc etc.. the main reason for this decision is that the score for your application was below the level that we currently accept on the product for which you applied.'
I have never had a credit card, I've had an overdraft however promptly paid it off along with all the fines, that was with HSBC.
What does the fact that my score is too low mean?

Have you checked your credit file?

Does this mean you went over your overdraft limit, or just used an arranged overdraft? If the former, then they aren't exactly going to see you as a risk-free customer, are they? (Assuming it was relatively recently that this happened.)0 -
I could be that because you've not had much credit, there's not enough history to assess whether you are a good risk..?If you will the end, you must will the means.0

Well... in the nicest sense, we take Polish people "fresh off the boat" and give them bank accounts with all-auth debit cards.
I'd suggest having a look at your credit report and seeing what's there around this overdraft. What would William Shatner do?0 -

Nobody is having a go at "Polish People" sir; Mr Barclays Manager was just pointing out a mere fact and maybe throwing the cat amongst the pigeons.bitterSTAR wrote: »I wish people would just leave Polish people alone.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -

I used them as an example because they are by far the largest immigrant group at the current moment.

Fair enough, it's okay. I just find it offending that a lot of people complain about Polish people, particularly as I have Polish relatives. I guess I just hate stereotyping lol. Anyways, I apologise for moaning.
PS. I upgraded my current account to Premier Life last week, so far very happy!Cashback Earnt so far in 2009: AMEX £133.93, wepromiseto.co.uk £67.07, Barclaycard £25, MobilePhoneExchange: £28. TOTAL: £254.000 -
Thats something I cant understand.
People can come here from another country (especially students) and get overdrafts, credit cards, and all-singing-all dancing bank accounts, but they could be bankrupt or wanted for fraud or anything in their own country, but they can get potentially loads of credit over here, whereas if you've lived in this country all your life and had one or two credit problems in the past, despite the fact you could be the world's most careful person with money now, most banks will turn their noses up at you!!!!!!!!!
I just dont get it
Im not being nasty here, Im just generally puzzled by this. *The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -

I don't hate Polish people. And I actually love most Polish food.
Enjoy your black card.
