The website says it come with a "Choice of Connect card or cash card".

You can select which card you want on the paper application. Not sure whether you actually get a choice though!

Oh, I can see how it made you miserable! Where I live public transport stopped working last night leaving many people stranded. Are you in London by any chance?

No, in the North East, but I was in work to cover the Superbowl final (yawn) and by the time I left with a 15 mile journey home ahead of me, it became an ordeal!
I have gone in at 1pm today to find I wasn't needed and am back home now - off until Thursday..... hooray!

  • Hi, just thought I could clear up some confusion as I'm a Barclays staff member! The Connect card isn't a credit scored product as it's a Connect Electronic and checks your balance before allowing a transaction to go through, so anyone can have one; it's up to you whether you have a Connect Electronic or a Cash Card. However, online banking is not available to people who have been bankrupt unless they are discharged.

tibtib, the current account plus for £3 per month is a credit scored account, and you don't get a different type of card with it, just the Connect.

and maxmycardigan, doing that is called churning and I'm not sure if it's illegal or not, but it's a common practice of fraudsters because they do it so it looks like they have a huge turnover so they can take a loan then disappear! I know it's checked for though.

    xx

Are you sure that is correct? I don't recall anyone ever mentioning this on here before?
