redundancy - info please

My DD's partner has been given a letter offering voluntary redundancy. There are 2 employees in his department and they have to go back next week with a decision as to which one is going to accept! Luckily, as a couple they have no debt, no children but they do have a mortgage and DD's salary is not good (17k gross). My question is what will they be entitled to - if anything?

What the entitlement is depends on whether the only deal on offer is the statutory requirements, or whether the company is offering something on top of that.Favours are returned ... Trust is earned

Hiya sweetie,
Did you mean what benefits they would be entitled to?
Jobseekers, Council tax Benefit, and maybe mortgage interest help I should expect - but I am no expert and I don't know if taking voluntary redundancy counts as leaving your job voluntarily in which case they might get less.
We couldn't make sense of the benefits system either so we went to the CAB and they worked it out for us.

If s/he has paid the relevant NICs then JSA contributions based (£60.50) for 6 months. Help with the mortgage wouldn't kick in until after 13 weeks, although I doubt that they'd get much (if anything) on her salary; same goes for CTB. Check on https://www.entitledto.co.uk0
