Calling all sewers to help make sanitary towels.

Options
Hello everyone,
I am involved in a charity called Algerian Action, we have recently launched a new project to make and distribute sanitary towels to young girls and ladies in Algeria who can't afford to buy them and have to result in using Bin liners or plastic bags .
The towels are very easy to make using any old scraps of material but will provide so much comfort and dignity to these women.
If anyone can help make these sanitary towels, we would be so grateful to receive them. I have posted the charity website below which will feature the pattern very shortly although there are several designs on the internet.
If you need any assistance or have any questions please PM me (Julie) or contact Emma via the website.
Thankyou so much in advance

I shall also dust off my sewing machine when I get home. Got a massive bag of sample fabrics that I've never found a use for, and this is definitely something I feel strongly about. I've bookmarked your site.
  • Thankyou so much xellieqx, your help is much appreciated and will make such a huge difference to the young girls and women that will receive them.

    Big cheer for you :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
  • Hi there, I'm not much of a knitter but I shall be able to rustle up some pads on my machine - when will the pattern be available?
  • Hello, I saw they accept other items and wondered if you had tried freecycle for things like jumpers and toys? Also look up the "goodwillgallery" as there are often things like that on there
