I am seeking advice from the knowledgeable people frequenting this board, and, perhaps people in "the trade". The conveyance i am seeking to purchase is likely to be a BMW 745. Please give me a guide to acquisition prices, so i am armed with information, before i part with my hard earned salary. My allotted budget is likely to be within the boundary of GBP16,000.
My earnest gratitude for your assistance.

Recommend that you do a search on autotrader and see if there are any vehicles that you are interested in. In turn, you should get a rough idea of the prices that they are going for, but also be aware that it is a buyers market at the moment and take this into account.Genie

Plus engines of that size should be going for peanuts. The only problem is what you see in Autotrader are the wishfull thinking prices folk hope to acheive. What you want to be doing is trying to determine real world prices.
I would be trying to find where the lease companies are shifting 1-3 year old models (probably at auction) and seeing what they achieve.
This might help:-

I'd give yourself around £1000 a year as an annual servicing budget, which won't include tyres - some models will have 19" wheels - tyres for that will be expensive.
Great car though - have you also considered an S-class?0 -
Just a couple of points. There don't appear to be many 745 around. You will probably be looking at the 730D or the 750.
If it was me I would be looking at cars advertised around £20k and be trying to get 20% - 25% off. Might not work but it will give you an indication of how hard they can be squeezed.0 -

Why does one not frequent a handful of vendors who peddle the afore mentioned conveyance, either online or in person. This should enable one to determine the mean disbursement required to procure said vehicle. Furnished with this data one can then barter with impudence.
Hopefully you can bag your new smoker for under 16large, given the !!!!!! state of the economy. Happy hunting.0 -
