I would like to know the best place to put away between 10-20 pounds a month for our children. Our daughter has turned eight and we would like to put this amount away, so in 10 years she will have enough cash to either go to uni or get a car. We have no idea where to put it for the safest and best results? Would appreciate some help.

There's only one answer to this really ... Halifax Children's Regular Saver. 8% interest. No other accounts go anywhere near that. See http://www.halifax.co.uk/savings/childregularsaver.asp
You also need to have a Save 4 It, for the money to go into at the end of the year, but that's also one of the best kids accounts around.0 -
