  • just a thought here but could you use wider ribbon to save you buying the punch?

Only if you won't use it again of course :p.

Bookmarks are something I've not made - will add it to my list to go with my mum's bag of charity shop books for mothers day.
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p

Great MSE idea :T. However, I think I might be using it for a few other crafts too if I can find the right thing!

i would say go for the crop-o-dile ive used mine loads so its been well worth the money and there a lot cheaper now than when i bought mine.you can use them on tons of things leather/tin/paper/card etc excellent for punching those extra holes on belts or embelishing a pair of jeans you can buy fancy eyelets as well as plain.plus small tins look lovely when theyve been eyeletted/punched ideal to give as pressies or use for mini hamper things especially since easter coming.sorry to go on can you tell i love mine lol

  • I just wanted to say thankyou to everyone for all your help and advice. I ended up ordering a single 1/8" hole punch from e-bay. I have just tried it out and it is perfect - I just need to get making 40 bookmarks for our toddler group now!

Thankyou - I wouldn't have known about these punches if it wasn't for you guys :T

Looks like I'm too late as you've already got something. I was going to suggest one of those tools that you use in DIY to make holes. It is small and has a wooden handle and a long sharp thick needle type thing attached. Can't remember the name. I've got one and it can be used for all sorts of craft projects as well as round the home.

That's it! I was trying to think of that name for ages. Thanks for the reminder.
  • You could try an electric drill although be careful!!! We use drills for paper holes although ours are mounted and use levers to pull down and use safely. This will certainly work through foam and paper. If you do go down this route make sure you have something underneath the paper and foamboard.
