Tap tail connections.

I'm fitting a new kitchen mixer tap. It's been supplied with 2 flexible tails. I'd have thought that the end which connects to the pipework would have a 15mm compression fitting but is got a recessed nut in which is a flat rubber washer very similar to the connection to a single ordinary tap. Is this supposed to attach to one end of a compression fitting? Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes, one end of an eblow or straight connector of the 15mm pipe.0

You require a 1/2" male iron to female compression adapter

Thats the DIY route
A 15mm compression elbow/straight etc has a very fine edge which cuts into the rubber if overtightened
If you use the fitting i linked tho then the face that joins is flat faced and gets a better seal and does not cut into the rubberHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
