Acer Aspire One Blue Screen?

I've been Money Tipped!
I bought one of the Acer Aspire netbooks from Asda last week and it has been working fine.

However, this morning it lost all power as I thought the charger was plugged in and it was charging, then I discovered I had plugged in the xbox by mistake!

Doh!

Anyway, I left it on charge for a few hours but when I went to turn it on, all I got was a blue screen with Aspire One written in the bottom corner, a bit like a wallpaper page.

Tried pressing loads of buttons but nothing happened, switched it off and on again a couple of times, the same happened each time ie blue screen.

I unplugged it, removed and replaced the battery and tried again.

Turned on, same again then after about 30 secs I got the main operating screen and it was working fine.

Does anyone know why I kept getting the blue screen just in case it should happen again?

It's ok, I have it sorted now thanks.

Was just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem.

    Hope you got yours sorted.

Sorry, only just seen your post.

I took off the battery pack and reconnected it and let it recharge and it was ok.

I haven't had the problem since, touch wood.
  • Anyone know how to fix this? It seems to be a common fault on Acer Aspire, but Acer refuse to help.
A blue icon sporadically flashes on screen, takes control of the volume and reduces volume to zero.

I've had the laptop 4 months, its got full anti-virus software since day 1, and this has always been a problem. Acer customer service and "technical support" is rubbish, they give you a 50p per minute number to call which hangs itself up 09067068000 - don't call it.
  • I have managed to fix this now, here's how: . Right click on the speaker icon, click playback devices, click communications, set option to "do nothing"

Acer customer service were crap. PC World Techguys were useless for months and eventually made me restore system defaults etc, which was unnecessary. Finally a competent techguys person gave me the solution described above, and it has worked (so far). ps if you to change volume whilst in fullscreen mode you can press the blue "Fn" key and the up or down cursor. :-)
DON'T BUY AN ACER nor Anything ever from PC World (they also set up unauthorised direct debits for product insurance which i had to bollock them about to get a refund. They are criminals)
