Just been reading a thread and realised that many people might not know this but...

If you want to do your shopping at tesco online you can open one of their basic saving accounts and pay for it on this. You do have to put the money on it in any store or you can if you are able set up a direct debit to it weekly. I always do my shopping with Tesco on this card and had no trouble. Not sure if this will change with BR but, shouldn't think so as I have to put money on to use it and you can only use it online or at the hole in the wall or at the customer services.
If you phone tesco helpline make sure you ask for the basic saving account "personal finance savings" don't mention the shopping side as they will try and fob you off with the credit card which you dont want.

This is interesting, I'll try and see if they will accept little ole br me on Monday! My feeling is that they won't but I will give it a go,

Hi Everyone I've just filled in the application form for an Tesco's Instant savers Account online, I will now wait and see what happens - will I be accepted or not,probably not but I'm happy too give it a go. Thanks for the info spenderbender,

I may be wrong but I think the Clubcardplus is a cc? So naughty br people are not allowed it but then again from everything I've read here we are not allowed to save either!!!

No, its not a cc. Unless its changed! You are only allowed to put money on it for Tesco shopping at Tesco and no-where else. And get extra points.

Can't find it on the website!! (looked half an hour ago - if you come across it, please post a link cos I can't!). I have only ever seen applications in the stores. There is a thread somewhere on one of the other boards about it.

For reasons known only to Tesco, they don't advertise the clubcard plus anymore. I picked up a leaflet in store yonks ago, but I haven't seen one for years. Also, if you look on their website, there is no mention. Staff look at you a little blankly
