Bed Help?

Hi All,

I'm not entirely sure which forum I ought to be posting this on so if any BGs want to move it to somewhere more appropriate please do.

My dliemma is this.......we are moving home in a few weeks and I need to buy my son a new bed. As my step daughter will be staying with occasionally I would like to buy a single bed with a pull out (trundle) bed stored beneath it.

I have found some online and in catalouges like Argos etc but the majority of them are 3ft in width. Am I right in thinking that a normal single bed is 3ft6in? I dont want to buy a 3ft one only to find its too small for the bedding.

If anyone can tell me a likelyplace to get a cheap one that would be great too!

Thanks,
Al.

    Hi Kiwichick,

I've just measured the three single beds in my house and they're all exactly 3' wide. Hope this helps.

Hi Kiwichick (from a fellow kiwi) - the standard single is definately 3 foot - but here you can buy some kids beds that are 2ft 6. Often the "big bed" is 3ft and the truckle underneath is smaller. We bought the same thing for our 2 year old so that he could sleep on the truckle bed until he was big enough to go in the "big bed" - the cheapest we found was Argos, although we ended up going to a local store.

Re bedding - make sure your sons bed is 3ft wide at present, not the smaller size, otherwise you will still have a bedding problem!

    Good luck.
