How does the re-assessment work?

I'm trying to understand how the payments are worked out when the figures are broken down. So, say for instance It's been agreed £50 for telephone/mobile per month and I manage to get an agreement from the phone company for say £35 per month- when they do their yearly assessment and they see these figures that are paid via direct debits - will they want the remaining £15 paid into the IVA or is it that what was agreed in the beginning and remains ours?
I hope I've explained what I am trying to say clearly.
oh, and on pay as you go mobile how are u supose to evidence how much you buy via top up, surely we are not required to keep each little receipt?

They give you a basic amount for things like mobile phones. If you pay your council tax monthly which is over a ten month period generally they will take the whole amount say £800 for the year and divide it by 12. the same is done if you are paid 4 weekly they work out that you actually have 13 paydays a month. again it is added up and split by 12. Hope this helps. Money Talks ...but all mine ever says is Goodbye! :rolleyes:0

Thanks for the reply so -If i'm understanding it right - if we originally agree for a certain amount it stays. Just that I have a managed to arrange a cheaper phone rental system for £10 a month cheaper, therefore when they look at my statements, surely they will see I am £10 a month better off than first thought so they may want to take it back..0

They don't look at your statements, only your I&E report. At least they've never asked for statments, only payslips in the four years 3 months I've had mine.:jDebt Free after 5 years.:j Now Time to start saving for my move to Canada0

CCCS have told me they want copies of bank statements - life would be a little easier if they didn't, all this blooming paperwork (assuming we get accepted for an IVA). I was hoping to be able to claw back the odd £5 from somewhere.0

we have to supply bank statements too at our yearly reviews. They have never questioned any amounts on ours thou and when we 1st took it out they told us they gave so much for shopping and even thou we don't spend that much, or didn't back at the start since had 2 children. They have just left it at the amount they stated0

Its interesting how these companies all operate differently.
How do they increase your shopping amount Clare - is that also yearly? The amount is set at the beginning what with price increases surely they must also increase outgoings by %?0 -

Very interesting, there seems to be a lot of differences in the way different IP's do these. I am with Payplan and as I said I have never been asked for a bank statement. It may be because they have had a higher dividend back from me than originally set out approx 75% vs 25% original proposal.:jDebt Free after 5 years.:j Now Time to start saving for my move to Canada0 -
I pay as many of my bills by standing order. This way they never change. Any savings I make means I end up with a credit on my account. Also if you get a small increase in wage or benefits this can be countered by an increase in your gas bill standing order (even if you are on a cheaper tarrif)
Things like Gas & electric I have DD set up as well but as my account is in credit it never takes anything and I get the discount.
Also if things get tight you can skip a month and stay in credit - The chances of anyone spotting 1 missed payment at the end of year review is pretty small. and easily explained.
Hopefully I'll end up not having to pay rent, council tax, gas, electric & phone for about 3-6months once my IVA has completed. or they can all be contacted and credits requested.0
