I freeze meat and ready meals for emergencies e.g. we have no money and we want a quick meal.
My OH and I did eat a Simply Cook It! Chicken with Cheese and Bacon last night dated October 2010. I defrosted it for a full day in the fridge and we still live to tell the tale :rotfl:.
Thank you for this thread, it has given me a lot of ideas :TCompetition Wins:

Hello all,
I've been wanting to make proper use of my freezer for ages now, and every time I try my food ends up getting the dreaded freezer burn, I get disheartened, chuck it out, and don't bother trying again for another few months. After just throwing out several packages of once beautiful stewing steak, I'm admitting defeat - how do you guys store your food to freeze, home made 'ready meals' and leftover veg, etc? How long can and do you store it for without a deterioration in quality? An idiots guide would be helpful, we can't afford to be throwing out food this way0
