Hi, i am about to start kitchen refurb. Have already purchase granite top (ebay) and want to get cupboard doors & carcasses - possibly ebay too. BUT; i haven't had integrated units before and want to know if I need to get a carcass plus the integrated doors for the appliance units??? I'm worried that the granite needs a strong base to hold it!
If i need the carcass/base units; are they standard size or slightly bigger??? Totally confused
Thanks!

I have recently ordered a kitchen which is going to have integrated dishwasher, fridge and oven. You need the housing units and then the appliance fascia.
Found this on Wickes which shows it
Under oven housing unit and appliance fascia
The housing unit is the standard 600mm. The fascias can come in different sizes depending on whether you have/want full height doors or door/drawer front combo and what they offer.0 -
Thanks for that.
So presumably I will need carcasses for fridge, diswasher and washing machine??

Yes, one housing unit for each appliance. If you pick up a kitchen brochure from one of the DIY sheds (or look online) you should see everything you need illustrated. I'm presuming all the appliances are the standard size so you'll need the 600mm, i.e. not, say, a slimline dishwasher.0

Thanks, thats great. I will probably have the slimline dishwasher but will check out what carcasses available.
many thanks!0 -
In addition to the carcasses my granite fitter fitted a "wooden ledge thing"(technical term!)to provide additional suport for the granite where it butted up to a wall.0

you will only need a unit for the oven the dishwasher/ washing m/ fridge/freezer if built under all are free standing.. even some double built under ovens have no need for a unit, but very few.0

450 slinline dishwashers need a 450 door if they are available, if not you will have to leave a 500mm gap with a 500 door.0

My dishwasher doesn't have a unit, I just had to leave a gap between two other units for it - it went in after the worktop was in. The worktop just bridges the gap.0

In my Wickes kitchen price list there are oven housing units, tall fridge/freezer housing units and then the different appliance doors. So if they're freestanding (and the WM will be) then Premkit is definitely right but it looks like it will depend if they're built under or built in I suppose. If I have given Knocklyon the wrong info then I'm sorry but at least you'll save some money if you only have to buy the fascias and not the cupboards.
I just told my supplier I wanted integrated DW, fridge and oven and left him to it. I've checked my other quotes and found one of them has "appliance end panel" for my oven housing so that may need to be factored in too.0 -
Integrated Washing Machines, Tumble Dryers and Dishwashers only need integrated doors. They do not need cabinets and in fact wouldn't even fit into one as they are designed to sit between units. Built under Oven needs a cabinet as does a Fridge/Freezer if going into a tall unit. Built Under Fridges and Freezers only need integrated doors.0
