incapacity benefit-what am i missing ?

I've, unfortunatly, been on IB since Feb last year and have been advised that we are not entiltled to any other help as my husband works full time, even though, our rent is £700 per month (which when I was working my wage paid), I completed a form 10th Dec for help with the council tax (which they are still processing). Our phone has been cut off due to late payments (Thanks BT!!), and due to my husbands previous divorce we have £20K+ of debts (she got everything, he got the marital debts because "he had better earning potential")
I'm not asking for these things to be paid for us, I wouldn't ask nor expect that. But we are at the stage where we are contemplating yet another loan, just to put food in the cupboard and to keep us up to date in rent and other bills before we get evicted.
We don't smoke, drink or drive fancy cars but what alternative do we have?
Is it any wonder my depression's getting worse!!!0 -
