Contents Insurance Personal Possessions - Does it cover Holiday Luggage ?

Does the Personal Possessions outside of the home part of a contents insurance include Holiday Luggage loss ? I have looked online at the terms and conditions and they mention possessions covered anywhere in the world but not specifically luggage.

If it is covered I could reduce the cost of my travel insurance.

You need to ring the insurers to clarify the specifics of your policy. The danger by asking here is that someone says 'yes', you then later need to make a claim only to find you're not covered. Best to check and find out for sure.

It depends how your insurers define posessions, it may not include your clothes or will probably be limited.

As a general rule of you have unspecified personal possession cover it will probally cover it. This covered "Personal Effects" which are deemed as items you would normally carry around with you such as jewellery, clothing cameras etc but not items such a 42 inch televisions etc as you would not normally carry them around.

As stated before you should ring your insurers and check with them (Take the person you speaks to name and note the date and time in case you have a problem when you make a claim)

Of course it's covered. What is luggage if it's not your personal possessions?
