hi, can you advise me on the best comparison site please for gas and electric.or recommend a company to go to.im so frustrated. im presently on british gas standard tariff and n powers standard tariff.
tried energyhelpline site and it said bg websaver 1 dual fuel was cheapest but is their electric cheaper than what im paying now please.
was looking at bg websaver 1, cheaper for gas but looks more expensive for electric i think??
im in yorkshire my gas prices are 7.506p first 670 kwh then 3.757p.
my electric prices are 16.580p first 182 kwh then 15.456p.

im using around 19500 kwh gas per year and 2350 kwh electric per year.
websaver 1 gas prices 6.680p first 670 kwh then 3.343p, ws1 elec prices 23.212p first 125 kwh per quarter then 10.427p (are the elec prices more expensive than n power standard tariff im on now).

confused as to whether websaver will save me on electric, my n power dd is set at £26 per month - electric only.
also seen gas only with ebico equigas at 3.770 per kwh would this save me if i just switched the gas.different results on every site.

please help

You will probably find the site is giving the cheapest 'total' bill one or other fuel may be cheaper elsewhere but typiclly a bundle will be cheaper.

How can anyone help you due to the regional price variations!

Enter your details into a few of the comparison sites e.g.

Best Buy Articles: Gas and Electricity |Boiler and Heating Cover Price Comparisons with cashback/wine: Energyhelpline* |Energylinx* | EnergyShop* | Moneysupermarket* | UK Power* | uSwitch*

and it will be obvious who is currently cheapest, however there are likely to be more price changes soon.

My advice at the moment would be wait.

BG have announce they are reducing their prices, I'm sure the others will be following suit fairly soon.

News that British Gas, the biggest supplier, would cut residential prices by 10% from 19 February sparked hopes that the decision will put pressure on other suppliers to do the same.
