Balterio Flooring: worth it or not?

After much procrastination and indecision, OH and I have finally settled on installing Balterio vitality deluxe 8mm laminate flooring.

It is a big decision given we will place it all over the downsatirs of the house.

Has anyone had this installed? Is it worth putting in given our budget of £14m2?:confused:

  • we have used this flooring for 2 properties and its very good quality. Its very easy to install, hardwearing and the finish is excellant. Weve had no problems at all, but it is down to the installer. Ive also had skirting boards fitted.

    It's a very "middle of the road" quality floor. If your laying yourself, you may struggle as its on an old fashioned rotational joint so you cant "click" it togther,i.e. tap it in.

    However this is what most of the middle of the road manufacturers make to cut costs.
  • Balterio Vitality is pretty much a 'Middle of the road' board,

    ...but £14 per m2????? What a rip-off!! They must have saw you coming!!!

    I KNOW what retailers and fitters pay for this at trade, and believe me, they are making loads of money out of you!

    I would advise on either shopping around, or have a good haggle.....at the price they pay for this at trade, you can probably get at least 20% off the £14 m/2, and the fitter will still have a a good profit margin.
    Profit=sanity
    Turnover=vanity
    Greed=inhumanity:dance:

    The fitter may have a good margin as they don't have the overheads of a retailer, a retailer still needs to make a margin, and on a medium value product like Vitality a 20% reduction in price means the retailer will make very little whereas the fitter makes the same before the discount.

    So if you buy from a fitter he probably can reduce his price, but if you buy from a retailer they will struggle to give big discount.
  • £14m2 is very expensive. It's a middle of the road 8mm 4v board. I'm selling at 12mm for £12 and a 8mm 4v for £8.66m2. Free delivery on orders over £400. What colour are u looking for? Check out my site ukdiscountflooring.co.uk
