for it to be tracked by an affiliate company. is this possible in a normal email to put a java script as am having difficulty understanding how to do this. thanks in advance.

I never allow images and general cr*p to download in emails automatically.

By allowing emails to download images and stuff automatically you're putting your computer at risk from viruses and other nasties from spam and phishing emails etc. I only allow content to open in a trusted email, like a newsletter from Amazon, Play.com etc.
