2nd-hand books in Manchester?
Options
Looking for more sources of plentiful cheap second-hand books if anyone knows any? They're something of an addiction with me...
I know of Paramount Books, Shudehill Book Centre, Barnardo's up by Piccadilly, the city centre market stall and the student union's regular book sales already. Anyone know of any other places? Anywhere else in Manchester that can be accessed by public transport, I'd be happy to have a recommendation
Thanks!

Trialia, have you checked out www.bookcrossing.com for details of freebie books that are travelling around? I'm pretty sure there's a local group in Manchester, and there's bound to be a few crossing zones in the city (I think the Cornerhouse is one) where good folks leave books to be picked up and read by others. You may also strike lucky and find one or two dotted around the city centre (I've released several there in the past couple of weeks) - keep your eyes peeled!Celebrate diversity!

Yep, I'm a member of BookCrossing, though I always feel guilty as I have so much trouble letting them go again after reading! Thanks for the suggestion, though.Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0

The Oxfam on Oldham Street has a very good selection, and if you fancy travelling a bit further out there are a few stalls on Bury Market0

Thanks
I know most of the places in the city centre, so it's really the further out ones like Bury Market about which I'm looking to find out
one advantage of having a travel pass. Possibly the only one...

I know that one already, too... and BookMooch. (See, I'm obsessed.
) Thank you, though.

There is a second hand book shop in Altrincham (not sure if its New Street or Regent Road) plenty of stock, various prices, if it helps.0

Thank you all
this thread will be a good resource for people to look at in the future, now! And I certainly plan on visiting a few of the suggestions.
