Hi I'd really appreciate some help with were to send my claim to Halifax.
I haven't had a claim in before the hold, but after loosing my job in oct, and in mounting debt I consider myself in financial hardship and would like to try and reclaim £2500 bank charges. I have all the charge details and am going to use the template on this site...but were do I actually send it? I've searched about and can't find an address. Sorry if its a silly question

Hi Kittyredcat, I sent my letter to Halifax, Customer Relations, P O Box 548, Leeds, LS1 1WU.
Good Luck!!0 -
Thankyou! I have also just noticed a thread further up that says you can send to your own branch0
-
Your own branch will only send it on to customer relations so best sending it straight there by recorded delivery and good luck, you will need it.
I have tried to claim from 3 banks, two were easy but Halifax are a complete pain!No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

I've sent my letter off a couple of days ago...so just wait and see if I get a reply. What do I do if no reply after the 14 days stated on the template letter? Go straight in with letter number 2?
From reading about on this forum not holding much hope, seems Abbey are the bank to be with at the mo! Typical of my rotten luck these last few month I'd bank with the worst one lol. I've also just started a tribunal claim with my ex employer after they didn't respond to the solicitors grievence letter I sent beggining of December ... Please if just one of the two pay up I'll be so happyand can clear my debt built up since leaving my job. (and clear the 205 unauthorised overdraft I have with Halifax due to nothing but bank charges, had to open another account to recieve benefits) x

Well I recieved a letter from halifax yesterday, dated 5th feb, I only posted my first letter to them on the 4 th so that was quick. it says about the test case, all claims on hold, social security act does not state bank charges can not be taken from accounts, and that an initial overview of my account shows no financial hardship (over £800 in charges the last year alone? endless bounced cheques? being in unautorised overdraft of £205 due SOLEY to bank charges? well what does show financial hardship I wonder?) but says it recognises that this does not show individual circumstances so can I complete the enclosed financial statement. it shows aside from the overdraft, and £239 the money shop are demanding full payment for and are refusing to make an arrangement with me (another story there) my outgoings total £38 more than incomings monthly. I'm not really hopeful though reading what I have about the halifax and bank charges

Do you have to keep writing letters to them, or just wait ? I keep thinking maybe we should try and push them abit more or something.0
