Electric Night Usage

Hi

Hope someone can help / advise

got letter from SP before Christmas saying they where going to increase my DD from £65 pm to £236 pm :eek: as it seemed I was not paying enough.

Called to complain about this and was asked to read meter for 7 days - this I done and gave to them - see below

White meter 1 Night 358 units @ 3.682 = £13.18
White meter 1 Day 64 units @ 8.535 = £5.46
Standing Charge - 7 days @ 16.270 = £1.14
Total = £19.78

We where away for 2 nights/days during this.

Only things that run at night are 4 storage heaters which where not even at full power, FF and cordless phone, Skyplus box

SP have now said today that my consumption is correct and the meter is ok (despite previously being told that is sounds as though the meter was faulty)

Does anyone know how many units storage heaters would use at night

Thanks in advance

    Hi I,ve got 3 storage heaters 2 of which are on high and other at 4
    My daily consumption reads as follows
    Control==58
    Night==5
    Day==5
    As Ive been checking for last month that is about average for me
    Interesting to note the prices you have quoted as last prices I have for SP are
    Control==3.446
    Night==3.848
    Day==8.916
    daily charge is 19.810
    VAT is then added to that and these were prices as at 6/12/05
    Hope this is of some help

    Hi Again,Just worked out mine and it comes too £20.837 for the 7 days.
    Did you remember too add 5% VAT
  • Thanks Chas

    The prices are correct - I've got the bill in front of me

    with VAT comes to £20.77

    What I don't understand is that it seemed to be cheaper using Power cards

    All my heaters where set at 5/6 - dont have control - what is that

    Cheers

    The meter i have has 3 readings on it and can only presume that control and night are more or less added together as it still comes under white meter.
    They all say white meter plus Control
    white meter plus Night
    white meter plus Day

    2 of my heaters are set at 6 which is hightest and other one at 4
