contents insurance

hi wonder if any one can advise me im looking to renew my contents insurance trouble is im not sure what my contents is worth now ,had a quote from people im with now but havnt got a clue if its good or bad really or wot im insured for been with them few years now .i will tell u wot i no and hopefully someone can help :- i have 3yrs no claims i only need contents as in rented property ,on renewable form from them it says maxium amount payable 21,610 under sums insured ,including high risk property in total 5,410,individual high risk single arcticle limit 1,500 including freezer contents 500 and not including accidental damage . so to me its all confusing any help would be great thanks :confused:

    The only way you can be sure that you are insuring your contents for the correct amount is to add them up. If you put 'Contents Calculator' into GOOGLE you will be offerred listings of what you would normally find in a house. You will need to go through each room and list all contents and value them (a catalogue is ideal for this). Add them all together and the total is the least you should insure for.
    I have retired from a career in Financial Services........Thank God. Any advice given may be as a result of senile dementia so dont take it too seriously.......;)
