So you have a contingency if the mortgage company down value it? Remember you will need a larger deposit if they do plus the costs of the works.0

You could ask them to name a price, and see if that matches with your figures.[/quote]
thats the problem though all there saying is near to asking price fairenough if they had carpets and furniture and painted walls, but alot of work does need doing. yes i would go up a a bit more but not much as i said for 189.000 i could have a new house! the work that needs to be done on that house is at least 20.000 possibly more.0 -
also a point to remember is some people dont have the same standards as you and are prepared to live with things as they are .saying that if your saying that similiar houses are 175k whats the difference with this one is it a corner plot more land is it freehold there are many things which add to a houses value as suggested start looking round .ive looked at that many over the years for both personal and investment you get a feel for the property from outside and only view internally when that feeling is good .personaly i wouldnt offer more when i first started out looking at property with my then girlfriend she fell in love with evry house we viewedif you think peoples advice is helpfull please take the time to clicking the thank you button it gives great satisfaction0

depending on if we get the property at the right price then yes money for just immediate work! but will probably take a whole year to get all done. As it does need a new kitchen and bathroom as it is very old and all house needs plastering. The man who it belonged to was old and has passed away and hes left it to his son.
And heating and rewiring?
It'll be a PITA to live with as you'll have to remove the kitchen to put a new one in, ditto bathroom.0 -

yes weve got a rough estimate as my mums house had new combi boiler, rewiring, plaster, decorating etc done last year. Thats why if we decide to go for the house wel have to do it up slowly and do alot of it ourselves as we'd rather put down a larger deposit so we can afford to pay for the mortgage.0
