Better cards and better loans out there.

The combination is a bit of a gimmick and seems confusing to me.

Better off getting a best buy card or loan or using something like Egg Money where you will get some cashback as well?

What rate are you paying on your credit card and who is it with? It definately looks like there is an opportunity to reduce your cost of borrowing using a 'life of balance' or 0% card.

I'm with Halifax. I did apply for a Barclays Life of balance card but didn't get any response through mail, e-mail or phone!
I also applied for a Lloyds TSB life of Balance card but was refused!

I'd like more info on the PO card too. I'm running out of 0% cc's which are fee free for BT's and this is fee free for 6 months. I wondered if it has low credit limits. Last time I looked at the stickies I couldn't see any info on this (PO) card.

go for the post office platinum - 3-4 weeks from applying (remember to go through one of the cashback sites to apply) - all done online, along with moving the phone over from bt (boo!) to them for 50 quid off first bill.

Received my card last week with 7.5k + limit, no bt fee, lovely irish girl did the bt on the phone no hassle to sbt card day i got it.

I'm sure I've read on a PO leaflet that you are only allowed one BT - which must be specified on the application form. Can you confirm this is correct?

although it clearly does state this on the agreement, and i had neglected to ask for the bt at the time of signing the application, get this - the girl said, 'oh dont you be worrying about that now, take no notice of it, thats all changed!' - truely i smiled.

I would advise that if you do apply, make sure you get this confirmed first, I was expecting them to knock me back for a bt, and would have had to use it for a purchase card, which wouldnt have been to much of a boon as i need a new one soon for that purpose
