Late application for winter fuel allowance

A distant relative applied for the winter fuel allowance after the deadline. This was in November 2008. he has received an acknowledgement in December.

The deadline for claiming in year 2008/09 is the end of March 2009 so they won't be too late yet, as for when it will be paid I've no idea.0

My distant relative who I am helping with their budgeting has in the last few days received the 2008 winter fuel allowance. This has just been paid as the claim was late. The person concerned has missed claiming for 3 previous years. (they are 64) Is it possible to claim this missing money, if so, how?There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0

Unfortunately it is not possible to claim for these missing years. The only back years it is possible to claim for are 1997-98 to 1999-2000. Don't ask me why
