Rightmove email alerts

Question for you all.

I am set up with rightmove to receive email alerts when new properties come on the market.

My question is, if/when a property comes down in price, does that make it into their daily email, or is it only 'new' instructions?

    In short, No.

You'll only get an E-mail when new properties come onto the market or if it goes onto the market with a different agent.

Have you got property bee installed? You'll see the price history then
  • Thanks Jenny.

Hi Poppy, it's not so much price history, more so I wanted something to 'flag' to me that the property price had fallen, otherwise the only way, as you rightly say, is to use propertybee, but then I need to be looking at all the houses I'm considering every day, instead of being emailed when the priced moved.

Now that would be a great feature of propertybee (or does it exist already and I've missed it?)

No if propertybee looked at properties for you then rightmove would be quite right to ban it - if it's only looking at what you look at then it's fairly non-instrusive.
Instal the bee - there might be someone already watching your area every day

I get the right move emails and it sends me properties that are listed as new when actually the price has just changed.

It does depend on how EA change the price as to whether it shows as new. Some do, some don't.
  • If you flag houses into your favorites, then the price would change when you next look at your favorites... At least I think that happens.

Yes it does, but again, Op would be needing to check this himself and that is what he is trying to avoid.

  • If the agent drops a price, or wants to generate interest on an old property, he can delete the property, and put it on again immediately, this comes up the same as a new property.

Any comments I make on here are my opinions, having worked in the lettings industry, and through life.
