Hi all,
Thanks for looking and I appreciate any advice you can give. I struggled setting up my new SNK5600/05 with the black Virgin Modem. The problem is that every day or so, I need to reboot the modem and router because otherwise I get a "limited or no connectivity" notice on my WLAN connection.....
Does anyone have any ideas?

Funny you should say that - I'm finding a similar issue with my router.
I thought it might finally be time to replace my router, I've had it a few years now. I haven't had to touch the modem yet (I have the old blue one), but every few days I have to powercycle my router to get internet access again.
Strangely though, Skype and Live Messenger still work fine
Was your router supplied by Virgin? I bought mine myself. It's a Belkin. The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.

I had a period of my Virgin Mode and Router needing to be power cycled every day or sometimes a couple of times a day. It hasn't happened since I uninstalled Zone Alarm Firewall (The free edition).
I'm not sure what Zone Alarm could have done to screw up the connection but it's defiantley stopped since it was uninstalled.
I did find when mine was playing up that Windows Update always still worked so it soudns similar and it's very odd. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends

I don't have Zonealarm installed, I use a hardware firewall, but I know what you mean. My sister uses it and in the past it's completely killed her connection. The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.

Sometimes the virgin network changes due to either an update or more likely an outage in your area. This is usually fixed by a reset of the provided cable modem or STB before your personal router.
You can actually call virgin up and get them to manually update your MAC address so that you dont have to clone inside your routers options as I know this is a pain. Please support my thanks button if I have been of any help

I was bought an acer aspire one for christmas,- i've just bought Buffalo wireless router - it keeps coming up that it can't access the intenet. We have virgin broadband and that works fine with our desktop (windows vista) the new laptop in Linux. Any information/help would be appreciated. I'm at my wit's end. I'm either gonna take it back and get money back or get someone techie in to have a look. Thanks.0
