I couldn't believe it when a friend told me that Dunnes had closed in Connswater. Apart from Tesco and Argos there is nothing there

I mentioned this to friends yesterday, they were in Dunnes on Wednesday in Connswater so it was still open.

  • I see some people in England are running the old woolworths stores as "Wellworths" - for ages I was going why is that sooo familiar and realised it was the old name for "SuperValu".

Store in Lisburn is still closed.

  • Is it really sad that I feel the need to go to Connswater tomorrow just to check whether Dunnes is still there? :rotfl: It has been really empty for months now so I won't be surprised if its gone.

Its a shame that the whole place has gone to the dogs. I really miss Easons. I miss Next and Woolies too. I always found that Next good for kids clothes. When other branches never had the sizes I wanted, I could always go there and get what I needed.

I reckon next on the Connswater casualty list are:

    Lifestyle Sports
    Bon Marche
The Optician (not Specsavers, the other one)
